Glasgow Caledonian University is the 4th largest university in Scotland, with an international reputation for research, learning and teaching.  The city centre campus has 17,500 students studying in over 400 courses.   It has an annual income of £112m (10/11 financial year). 

The School of Health and Life Sciences was established in 2011, following the merger of the School of Health and the School of Life Sciences.  By bringing Health, Nursing and Social Care disciplines together with Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Psychology and Vision Sciences, the School is one of the largest providers of health care and life science education in Scotland.  The School of Health has over 400 staff and 4000 undergraduate and postgraduate students.  The School and its staff have very close links with the professional and regulatory bodies and all programmes receive professional recognition both nationally and internationally. It provides students with an exciting and dynamic environment in which to further their professional and academic careers, enriched through its interdisciplinary and internationally facing research.

Glasgow Caledonian’s research in allied health is world leading and was recently ranked top in Scotland and in the UK top 10 in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise.
