Baltic Orthoservice is a leading manufacturer and provider of custom-made orthopaedic footwear and orthotic products and services in the EU.  Baltic Orthoservice works to combine knowledge of orthopaedic doctors, orthopaedic engineers, shoe designers and IT professionals working to create new products and services to its customers. They not only provide customised orthotic services directly to their patients, but also develop new patient service technologies and instruments, new orthopaedic products and IT systems to manage mass production and the logistics of custom-made products. 

Baltic Orthoservice with their partner ELINTA, have developed cost-effective, high resolution 3D body foot scanning technology.  This equipment has been used to drive the development of customised orthopaedic footwear and orthoses, to improve the quality of the overall patient service, and to make services more accessible. 

This equipment and associated data analysis techniques and diagnostic methods have to be developed and commercialised in the form of knowledge-based IT systems.  Development of such systems is the main direction of the Company’s R&D activities.
